How We Ensure Quality Control For CNC Machined Products
There are plenty of reasons why we at Creatingway inspect machined metal parts. The most important being to determine whether its quality satisfies its intended application. We scrutinize CNC machining processes before approving them to be part of our production line. To evaluate the quality of metal machining, we have forms of measurement in place to compare features. Furthermore, amongst our personnel are qualified individuals that have the expertise to perform the inspection.
Categories that undergo inspection and quality control
To achieve a top-notch CNC machining process, an inspection of the following is key: the materials, equipment, staff evaluation, testing, and evaluation of the vessel housing the fabrication.
We examine each machining category to ensure accordance with the acknowledged current trends in the engineering industry. We also ensure the safe storage of our raw material; free from dirt, moisture, or any other foreign materials to prevent any form of corrosion or degradation.
Protocol for Quality Control of CNC Machining Products
At Creatingway, we prioritize the inspection of all our machined products. We commit to the philosophy of surpassing our clients’ expectations on quality, cost, delivery, value, and safety. Our duty, as the CNC machining company of choice, is to actively recognize and define our customers’ requirements while still complying with the applicable set standards. We designed the following protocols to enable us to maintain the quality control parameters.
-
Customer communication
With respect to our devotion to exceeding our clients’ expectations, Creatingway highlights proper client communications as a critical element of satisfying our clients.
-
Products and services
We have a monitoring and measuring program for all our machining products. We achieve this by adequately defining drawings, specifications, documenting purchases and in testing procedures.
-
Verification of bought goods
We subject all bought products to inspection techniques that we later mention in detail.
-
In-process inspections
In-process inspection is a type of first article inspection that ascertains the quality and proper time delivery of finalized orders to our clients.
-
Final acceptance inspection
We subject all our finished CNC machining products to an ultimate quality control inspection. So that our inspectors first verify the completion of all in-process inspections. The remaining tests are essential for ascertaining the conformity of the product. We record the results of all the tests and then pack and ship the products that excel in the final inspection process.
What’s the fabrication inspection procedure?

Our quality control experts inspect our fabricated products at the following stages of the production process:
- During the fit-up, especially before the first pass and when needed during thru root pass.
- After any operation involving back grinding.
- After welding is completed.
Evaluation during fit-up especially before the first pass is usually visual and dimensional. We check the tack welds, and pre-heat is applied. Eyesight is used when evaluating after back grinding, sight, and when further exploration of the extent of visible flaws is required, other techniques are applicable. Hence, we regulate evaluation upon completion of welding through specific rules depending on the type of metal fabrication.
Non-destructive techniques of inspecting metal fabrications
How do we perform product quality inspection? Below is a list of techniques we employ in quality control.
-
Visual inspection
It is often the easiest, inexpensive, and most effective technique of evaluating metal fabrications. It can be applicable in a variety of situations if performed accurately. Our quality control personnel can recognize all the irregular welding discontinuities through this technique. They also ensure the evaluation of all the required fabrication standards and the significance of the identified irregularities.
-
Surface crack detection
At Creatingway, we conduct metal fabrication tests through surface crack detection techniques. Evaluation of the exam results of the tests performed is what differentiates us from our competitors. Our quality control professionals use several techniques, such as liquid penetrant and magnetic unit inspection. This technique is essential since there are some surface defects, such as cracks that are undetectable to the human eye. These cracks compromise the overall integrity of the finished prototype.
-
Radiographic and ultrasonic metal fabrication evaluation
It is a non-destructive method of evaluating the internal composition of the prototype to establish its strength and integrity. We have certified inspectors that can comprehend this type of testing and interpreting the obtained results. Its greatest advantage is the ability of this technique is its ability to inspect without destroying the prototype.
The radioactive method utilizes X-rays produced by X-ray tubes or Gamma rays emitted by a radioactive isotope. The penetrating radiation passes through the prototype and outlines onto a photographic film where an image forms. We view any defect in this depiction as dark outlines.
Ultrasonic testing utilizes mechanical vibration that is of higher frequency than sound waves. A ray of the electromagnetic wave moves towards the fabricated part under investigation. The beam normally deflects when it encounters irregularities in the prototype along its path. This deflection is received as reflected energy by a transducer, which converts it to mechanical energy. We then evaluate on an oscilloscope.
Creatingway has the necessary personnel and equipment needed for a successful quality control setup. Therefore, we assure our clients of top-notch products.
